We love Harry Potter even after so many years, so every time I re-read book I come across new aspect of the story. J.K. Rowling has written this book with such depth that unraveling its each aspect becomes impossible. I have recently realized that The fifth book in this installment is absolutely incredible.

Re-reading this fifth part of series has stirred so much inside me and I needed to discuss it, so here I am sharing my views on why this book is the best book in this series, so without further a do let’s jump right into it.

  1. Book that marked end of the childhood:

chochang_1_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqVD095X-6w5ARtPA0ulG9CCFxyGgy7szyv1FSlh_iKR8

It is evident that J.K. Rowling did a phenomenal job in story telling, I loved how smoothly she has changed the feel of story with each passing year of Harry’s life. Order of Phoenix for me the thus a book with very dark story. There is so much going on in this book with Harry and his friends. Return of dark lord, Dumbledore and Harry being accused of spreading rumors about return of dark lord, Harry’s complicated love life and worst introduction of Dolores Umbridge.

2. This book had moments that changed the flow of entire series:

This book had some awesome but dark moments that made this book stand apart in entire series. Dark lord possessing Harry, Dumbledore ignoring him, Harry’s classmate calling him lair for telling people that dark lord returned, incompetence of Ministry of Magic, not just these Harry was going through so much on personal front as well, his complicated feelings towards Cho, Dolores Umbridge banning Harry from palying Quidditch.

3. Importance of  sticking together:

wallpaper2you_16877

This book made me realised that no one can ever survive alone. I loved the part where they introduced Dumbledore’s army, where Harry’s his friends used to learn defense against the dark arts from him, so that they can combat if situations are in favor.

4. Prophecy:

Order-of-the-phoenix-harry_prophecy

After waiting for four books, finally in this book we get to know why exactly Voldemort considered Harry as his enemy. I think this was a crucial point of this entire series, I cannot forget the kind of sensations I got when I read it for the first time and then I re-read that section again and again.

5. Power Of Love:

BATTleOFhoGWARtsz

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not… and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies….— Sybill Trelawney’s prophecy made to Albus Dumbledore ( Harry Potter Wiki)

There were so many things common between Harry and Voldemort but what made Harry different? It was power of love. In The order of Phoenix movie, I particularly liked the scene where Harry was possessed by dark lord but then he gets glimpse of his friends and people who love him.

6. Introduction to New characters:

Harry-Potter-Order-Phoenix-33

I love this book because this book introduced some new characters to me, Like Luna Luvgood, a weirdly beautiful girl, best villain Dolores Umbridge, Tonks and Bellatrix.

This is it guys, please feel free to share your views in comment section.

21 years ago, we all witnessed a magical world of Harry Potter, an epic saga which not only changed so many lives but is and will always remain the biggest evolution in literary world. Its been so many years yet still we are under the spell of “The Boy Who Lived”

Today, I will be sharing my views on why I love this series, so without further a do let’s jump right into it.

  1. Story that saved so many lives:

hp-group-home

I would not be wrong if I say Harry Potter has been a life changing experience for me, and every now and then we have seen so many people confessing how this story has changed their lives. This story has saved me from reality and have been a perfect escape for me and even today I look up to this magical world when reality starts taking toll over my life.

2.  Friendship for life:

ron-and-hermione-in-article

This story thought me real dynamics of friendship, it taught me friendship is not just about enjoying life and going to movies together but true meaning of friendship is sticking together through thick and thins, it taught me commitment and loyalty are not mere words. This series is just like a friend to me on whom I can count every time to comfort me.

3.  Power of Love:

Harry-Potter-and-the-Prisoner-of-Azkaban-harry-potter-5023507-720-480

What saved Harry was his parent’s love for their child, this is a story which made me realized love is the selfless,  Ron and Hermione’s love for Harry have saved him countless time. Harry’s parents were not alive but he was loved by so many people like Remus, Sirius, Molly and Arthur.

4. Keep Fighting:

harry-potter-kennedy-center-2-727x485

Maybe life is not fair, maybe time is not in favor but keep fighting till the time is bows down to you, Harry’s story is a story of real struggle. Right from the first year at Hogwarts he fought, sometimes he fought his fears, sometimes he fought is classmates, sometimes he even challenged the school authorities and broke rules. It was never easy for him.

5. It is so much more than a book:

This series is so much more than just a story for me, I feel like I have left some part of mine with this book, I have laughed, I cried, I questioned and I discovered along with the story. It is my home and my safe place, even after re-reading books and watching movies for zillion times, I never get enough of this.

These were few reasons why I loved this series and movie franchise so much and share your Harry Potter experiences with me in comments.

At the end I would like to say once again, “Happy birthday Harry”.

Is Petunia Dursley Good or Bad?

petunia_400x400

Hello readers and welcome to my blog, I have been seeing a lot of discussion on Petunia Dursley lately, people are debating if Petunia’s character good or not?

So I thought I should also present my take on this whole character discussion.

**********************Petunia Dursley**************************

Petunia_DH1

Petunia, sister of Harry’s mother Lily Potter, if we take closer look on both sister’s childhood we get to know both were just like any other sibling, they loved each other and they were good and it is evident that reason of rift between them was Lily’s ability. When Lily started showing signs of being an extraordinary kid, it was obvious her parents were proud of her and she grabbed all their attention which made Petunia extremely jealous of her, which infact is pretty normal. Then Lily received her Hogwarts letter which made her even more special and Petunia even more jealous. Petunia even wrote to Dumbledore begging him to take her in Hogwarts to which headmaster replied very politely, when Lily confronted Petunia on writing to Dumbledore, she denied writing any letter even though Lily claimed she seen the reply from headmaster.

So there is a proof that Petunia wanted to be a witch. In many cases it is seen that when one sibling is better in that case other lives in its shadow, there is a possibility that petunia was compared to Lily and her achievements, which made her insecure about herself but question remains was she good or bad?

If she was bad then the question is why she took Harry? I think reason is, somewhere she loved her sister and was aware Harry might get killed who was infant when his mother died and she wanted to protect him.

So I am thinking how does people say she was a bad character? Is it because she despised Harry’s existence? Yes, it might be a possible answer, Harry was not aware about anything still somehow he was victim of a her aunt’s jealousy.  Harry constantly reminded Petunia of a place which made her sister great and the place where she wanted to go but couldn’t. There is a possibility that Harry reminded Petunia of her sister which reminded her of her unfulfilled ambitions. Somewhere she was aware of the fact that one day Harry will also go the place where he belonged…also she never stopped her husband or son when they used to bully Harry.

Also there is a theory, Harry had a part of Voldemort within him, which made Harry a Horecrux, and this was the reason why Dursleys despised him which cannot be ignored. There were parts where we saw kind side of Petunia, in fifth book when Vernon asked Harry to leave, Petunia argued and let Harry stay.

So at the end, my conclusion is Petunia was not good to Harry but that doesn’t make her villain, at least she protected him for eleven years.

What you guys think, do let me know.

Is Hermione Granger Hogwarts’s Smartest witch??

220px-Hermione_Granger_poster

Hello readers and welcome to my blog, so today I am gonna geek around and I invite you guys to join me on Amino community if you are a part of it.

So guys recently I came across a discussion about who is the smartest wizard/witch of Hogwarts and when it comes to it Hermione Granger has always been my favourite but is she the smartest witch??

*************************Hermione Granger*******************

A mud blood Hermione has always been a bookworm, she is perfect when it comes to knowledge and following rules, this is a reason why she is considered finest witches of her age and I seriously think sometimes what would have happened to Harry and Ron if she was not there.

Hermione_raising_hand

But still I would not consider Hermione the smartest witch of Hogwarts, for me she will always be the one who keeps her nose in book and strictly adheres to what book say. I would not blame her for being how she is because she comes from a non magical background and she has that eagerness to show what she is capable to do.

But smartness and intelligence is not confined to books, it takes a lot to be the smartest person in the room, for instance in Half Blood Prince while making potions, Harry was using old book in which there were loads of correction made which helped Harry ending up with the best potion, which shows Severus Snape, was the person who looked beyond what is written in book and came up with corrections in it. Although harry told Hermione to do as he says but she denied. I understand if I were at her place I too could have done what my book says but looking at my friend making perfect potions would have intrigued me to try what he was trying.

Hermoine is undoubtedly intelligent as she was the person who figured out who Nicholas Flamel was and she was the person who figured out Lupin was warewolf, but somehow I feel she limits her intelligent to line written in books. On the other hand there was Harry who was not as good as Hermione but he survived.

I hope you guys got my point.

Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban

Azkabanscreengrab01

Hello readers and welcome to my blog!! I have been Harry Potter fan since eternity and I am very much fond and proud of both book series and movie franchise. I loved all movies as well books but if some one ask me which Harry Potter book or movie is my favourite, I would say “Prisoner of Azkaban”  .

Prisoner of Azkaban, third installment in this series and this particular part witness so many changes that series was going through. So today, I am going to discuss the factors that I feel makes this part of movies/ book series so important, without further a do lets get started.

  1. Dark:

harry-potter-and-the-prisoner-of-azkaban-movie-stills-a-scene_1732729-400x305

This Harry Potter part was darker than previous two parts which clearly tells that Harry is grown up now he has to deal with some real problems. In this book/ movie we got to know about Dementors, Pattigrew, , Sirius Black. In the beginning of this part Harry caste magic spell on his aunt when he was  not allowed to do magic outside Hogwarts. Harry is vulnerable and confused, there is so much more going on in his life and mind that he simply cannot goof around with friends like they used to do. This part indicated series’s transition from children adventure story to dark reality of Harry’s life.

2. Loneliness:

dementor-harry-potter

Harry Potter had great friends who were also his family, they stick together through thick and thins and this is what friends do, specially Harry’s friend but in Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter was lonely, specially we can see this movie there are a lot of scenes where we see Harry alone and scared. Dementors kept bothering him with constant fear of being killed by Black. Harry has to go through all the fears all alone being the chosen one and carrying responsibilities along of being chosen one.

3. Confrontation:

PeterPettigrew_WB_F3_PettigrewSmilingPartwayThroughTransformation_Still_080615_Land

Harry confronted Pattigrew, when he found Lupin and Black accusing him for the murder of his parents. Betrayal struck him, for all these years he was thinking Sirius killed his parents and then he get to know someone else was responsible for the death of his parents.

4. Godfather:

Harry-Potter-and-the-Prisoner-of-Azkaban-harry-potter-5023507-720-480

In this installment, Harry gets to know that Sirius Black is his godfather and they dream to live together in future when Sirius will be free from Azkaban. Sadly, that didn’t happen but it gave Harry some relief for the time being that he don’t have to go back to Dursely’s and in all those moments of darkness and fear Harry got his chance to be with his family and happy, which was very heart warming.

5. Expecto Patronum:

harry-potter-and-the-prisoner-of-azkaban

This was the part where learned how to confront his fears. He was lucky that he got Professor Lupin to help him. From “Ridikulus” to “Expecto Patronum”., Harry found that there are things that might scare you but confronting fears always works.

There were other things as well this movie and book that I loved like time-turner, buckbeak and firebolt.!!

which part is your favourite? do share with me your opinions.
